Session Description

This course will be a practical, clinically oriented, guide to planning and performing a lip lift. An edited video of the procedure will be shown and the course will include a question and answer period.

Review the relevance of the upper lip and the importance of lip lifting in contemporary facial rejuvenation procedures.
Discuss upper lip aesthetics and indications and contraindications for lip lift procedures.
Compare and contrast the strengths and weaknesses of the commonly advocated lip lift techniques.
Discuss pre-operative analysis of the lip lift patient and the formulation of an appropriate surgical plan
Review clinically relevant anatomy important to surgical technique and avoiding complications
Discuss planning of incisions and surgical technique to minimize scars, optimize outcomes, and to avoid secondary deformities.
Discuss concomitant peri-oral fat grafting and laser skin resurfacing in lip lift procedures
Review anesthesia considerations in lip lift surgery
Discuss patient safety issues in lip lift surgery
Discuss peri-operative care of the lip lift patient
